Happy Valentine's Day All!

Happy Valentines Day Readers!

I know I've done a HORRIBLE job of updating but over Christmas break my camera lens loosened and it's been getting fixed since I last updated. I finally had time to snag my roomie and with the help of her camera I was able to snap some quick shots for a Valentine's Day themed outfit! (I also dyed my hair back to my natural color this past weekend, what do you think?) If you can't tell from my excitement I'm a huge Valentine's Day fan, I always have been. I love dressing for the occasion but not in a over the top way (although for some my hot pink skirt may be over the top). I really really love this outfit and all the pieces that are in it (this blazer is my favorite and I got it from a thrift store for such a good price and it fits like a glove!), I hope all of you love it as much as I do!

My obsession with coffee is unending...
kisses to you all for ValDay!
I love you all so much!

New Year, New Post

Hello Readers!
It's been far, far too long. I sincerely apologize for the absence, with the end of the semester and winter break I just never got around to posting. A resolution I have is to do better with keeping up with the blog so I hope that's one I can stick to! Today is all about newness, I got the beautiful coat I'm wearing over break and just adore it. Also, I thought I'd debut my new glasses (I can finally see now!) and my attempt at a middle part. I've always wanted to try one but wasn't quite sure I could pull it off but the other day I just went for it and am trying it out (and kind of loving it)! I hope that you all had an amazing holiday and I encourage you to throw on something new, maybe try and new hairstyle like I did, or play around with some make-up looks! Have fun with it and let me know what you end up trying! Also, I plan on doing a new type of posting where I give you multiple ways to wear different pieces that may be harder think of ways to wear them! I'm really excited by the idea, it was suggested by my friend Hannah and I think it'll be a lot of fun!

Hit Me with Your Best Color

Hello hello!

Can you believe that I've done 3 posts in one week!? I sure can't. I'm hoping to keep it up and not fall off the face of the map again, haha. If you know me you know that I'm a huge fan of neutrals, I don't know why but I just seem to always been drawn to neutrals. There is an exception though- I love a good pop of color. There's something about a very simply colored outfit with a hit of color that is so chic. I've been seeing a beautiful magenta/fuschia color featured in Fall/Winter 2011 collections (D&G, Kate Spade, and J.Crew along with many others) and it really caught my eye. I had to find it and try it for myself, so today I did my neutrals all over with a bright fuschia top and I loved it! Since I'm a poor college student I unfortunately can't buy things right off the runway (maybe one day...) but that doesn't mean you can't bring that into your wardrobe! I think so many people think they can't find a way to put high fashion trends in their wardrobe but that's false! Without even realizing it less expensive stores infuse the same trends into their lines for Fall/Winter and you have total access to that! So ladies, I challenge you to find your favorite color from a Fall/Winter collection (my other favorite is the bamboo/mustard color if you want to steal mine!) and infuse it into your own outfits!

Maxi, Maxi, Maxi

Hello Again!

First off this is the second post I've done this week meaning my reliability is hopefully looking up! Today was somewhat gloomy outside, one of those days that you wish you could just cuddle in bed with some good movies and hot cocoa but in spite of that I was feeling inspired to wear a dress. I have never been able to find a maxi dress that works on me since I have longer legs and a skinnier frame. They always tend to end up right at my ankles in a very non-flattering way. I stumbled across this gem (on sale!) and it was perfect - I had to have it. Since it has the ability to be a summer maxi I de-summerized (I just made that word up...) it by adding combat boots and a black blazer. I've had this blazer for years and love it, the non traditional shape and big buttons really make it unique. Maxi's of any kind are in trend this fall so if you have a summer maxi that you love try and bring it into the fall with some winter accessories like boots, a jacket or a scarf! I would recommend though picking one that is not linen or a really summer-ish print jersey cause those tend like summer no matter what. I kept my jewelry simple as well as both my jacket and shoes. Sticking with neutrals is key to not making the outfit too busy since the dress has such a large print. So bring out those maxi's ladies and pair them with winter pieces for an awe-inspiring and really comfy look! Now we have both a Mini, Mini, Mini post and a Maxi, Maxi, Maxi to balance it out! Yay for opposites!

Gettin' Cozy

Hello Lovely Readers!
In honor of the fast approaching winter season I though I'd give you a peek as to what structures are trending this fall! Structured peacoats, capes, parkas, and trenches are lining the streets everywhere you go. Now the prices of all the below are pretty steep but I just wanted to show you the ideal style of each structure! Now go get your own, and enjoy the brisk air as you stay warm in your new winter wear!Jackets

Bad A.

Hello World!

If you haven't already figured out that I'm horrible at keeping up with blogs I'll go ahead and let you know now that I have this tendency to forget about mine. That being said I finally have a new post for you! The leaves are changing colors and the temperature is wonderfully crisp. I had fun with this outfit, wearing my combat boots always make me feel tough. My advice for this post is to pull something tough out in your own wardrobe and either go the tough root (example) or tone it down with some more feminine accents like this. Have fun being tough cookies!

The pictures that I got weren't the best but they do the job!

Hair risks can be fun!

Hello lovely people!

I know I've been awful at updating this, unfortunately my addiction to Law and Order SVU took over and I got distracted. No worries though, I'm limiting my tv watching so more posts should be occurring! This one is about taking hair risks, which is something I've always loved to do. The key to taking a risk is r-e-s-e-a-r-c-h. Sounds crazy right? But the reason why it's so important is because it allows you to have freedom within it. I've been wanting to do an ombre hairstyle since like last May but the first time I tried it, it failed. For all of you who don't know what ombre is here is an example! Well, I went to get my hair done this Friday and on a whim we tried it again, and it worked! I love it, it's hard to tell in the picture but I took a chance and it payed off. So I would love to encourage you all to take a risk today, whether it's with hair, clothes or make-up!
